Short Term Accommodation with Myhorizon
Our Short Term Accommodation service – MyBreak STA– provides you with a planned break from your usual care arrangements, supporting both you and the people who care for you. We have a permanent STA facility based at Alexandra Hills and if needed can organise suitable alternate locations.
What is MyBreak Short Term Accommodation (STA) all about?
Our MyBreak STA service offers short-term accommodation designed to provide you with a refreshing change of scenery, while supporting your independence in a safe and welcoming environment. At the same time, it gives your primary carers a valuable opportunity to rest and recharge from their daily caring role.
Most stays are small, group-based experiences (typically up to three participants, depending on capacity), creating a social and supportive setting. We also understand that some people may require one-to-one support, and we are happy to accommodate this based on your needs and funding.
Each stay is delivered by qualified Myhorizon staff, with 24/7 support tailored to your individual goals, preferences and support requirements.
How is your STA funded?
Transport to and from respite can be drawn from your Core Transport budget.
Making the most of your STA funding
Unlike many providers who charge in set 24-hour blocks, we align our pricing to the actual hours you receive support. This approach helps make your funding go further and may allow for more frequent or longer stays over time.
Clear and consistent costs
Your STA funding covers your support, meals and accommodation. In line with NDIS guidelines, any personal expenses, such as tickets to events or optional community activities, are your only out-of-pocket expenses.
